RETURN POLICY

At BuySinopec, we are committed to providing high-quality products and a transparent returns process. This Return Policy forms part of our Terms of Service and explains the conditions under which products purchased through www.buysinopec.ca may be returned, exchanged, or refunded.
Please read this policy carefully before placing your order. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Return Policy.

SECTION 1 – RETURN ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for a return, your purchase must meet ALL of the following conditions:
- The return request must be submitted within the applicable return window set out in this Policy;
- You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) from our customer service team BEFORE shipping any product back;
- The product must be unopened, unused, in its original packaging with all original components, accessories, manuals, and seals intact;
- Proof of purchase (order number or confirmation email) must be provided; and
- The product must not be designated as final sale, custom order, or non-returnable.
Returns received without a valid RMA number, or that do not meet the conditions above, may be refused or returned to sender at the customer’s expense.
SECTION 2 – LUBRICANTS, OILS AND FLUIDS
If you are not satisfied with your purchase of lubricants, oils, or fluids, you may return the product subject to the following conditions:
- Return requests must be submitted within seven (7) calendar days of the original delivery date;
- Products must be returned in unopened, sealed, “like-new” condition with all original packaging intact;
- Customer must contact us by phone or email to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping the product back;
- All approved returns are subject to a twenty-five percent (25%) restocking fee, which reflects our actual costs of handling, inspection, quality verification, repackaging, and inventory management;
- Outbound and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser and are non-refundable; and
- Returns shipped without an RMA number or outside the 7-day window will not be accepted.
Once a container of lubricant, oil, or fluid has been opened, it cannot be resold or returned for safety, contamination, and product integrity reasons.
Due to contamination, safety, and regulatory considerations, returned lubricants, oils, and fluids may be destroyed or disposed of upon inspection and cannot be reshipped or resold once opened or compromised.
SECTION 3 – PUMPS, EQUIPMENT AND FINAL SALE ITEMS
All pumps, equipment, and accessories are sold on a final sale basis and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange except where required by applicable law or an applicable manufacturer warranty.
By placing an order for any pump, equipment, or accessory product, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Pumps and equipment are sold “as is” without any right of return;
- You assume full responsibility for verifying compatibility, specifications, voltage, fittings, and intended application BEFORE placing your order;
- No refunds will be issued for buyer’s remorse, change of mind, incorrect selection, sizing errors, or compatibility issues; and
- Warranty claims for manufacturing defects must be submitted in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty terms accompanying the product.
If you are uncertain about specifications or compatibility, please contact our team at info@buysinopec.ca BEFORE placing your order. We are happy to assist with product selection.
SECTION 4 – CUSTOM, SPECIAL ORDER AND BULK PURCHASES
Custom orders, special-order items, drop-ship items, and bulk or wholesale purchases are non-refundable and non-returnable. These items are sourced or manufactured specifically for your order and cannot be returned to inventory.
Examples of non-returnable orders include, without limitation:
- Products with custom labelling, branding, or packaging;
- Non-standard pack sizes, volumes, or configurations;
- Drop-shipped items fulfilled directly from a manufacturer or supplier;
- Bulk orders (typically defined as orders of 5 drums / 200 litres or more, or any order designated as bulk at checkout); and
- Any product designated as “final sale” or “non-returnable” on the product listing at the time of purchase.
SECTION 5 – DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE OR INCORRECT ITEMS
We take great care to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition. However, shipping damage occasionally occurs. The following procedures apply:
5.1 Inspection at Delivery
You are required to inspect all shipments at the time of delivery, BEFORE signing the delivery receipt.
If you observe any visible damage, missing cartons, crushed packaging, leaking containers, or pallet damage at the time of delivery:
- Note the damage clearly on the carrier’s delivery receipt or bill of lading BEFORE signing;
- Take clear photographs of the damage, the packaging, and the shipping labels;
- If the entire shipment is damaged, you may refuse the shipment and instruct the carrier to return it; and
- Contact our customer service team the same day to begin the claims process.
Signing for a shipment without noting damages constitutes acceptance that the shipment was delivered in good condition. This may significantly limit your ability to recover damages from the carrier or from us.
5.2 Concealed Damage and Reporting Window
We strongly recommend opening and inspecting all boxes, removing shrink wrap, and verifying contents immediately upon delivery to identify any concealed damage.
Any damage, defects, missing items, or incorrect items not visible at delivery must be reported to us in writing at info@buysinopec.ca within forty-eight (48) hours of delivery, with supporting photographs and your order number.
Failure to report damage, shortages, or defects within this 48-hour window may result in:
- Loss of eligibility for replacement, refund, or insurance claim assistance;
- Inability to pursue claims against the shipping carrier; and
- Forfeiture of remedies under this Policy.
5.3 Resolution
Once damage or a defect has been verified, we will, at our discretion, offer one of the following remedies:
- Replacement of the damaged or defective product at no additional cost;
- Full or partial refund to the original payment method; or
- Store credit toward a future purchase.
Where replacement is selected, processing typically takes 4 to 12 weeks depending on product availability and the outcome of any carrier insurance claim.
SECTION 6 – RETURN PROCEDURE
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:
- Step 1: Contact our customer service team at info@buysinopec.ca within the applicable return window. Include your order number, the product(s) being returned, and the reason for the return.
- Step 2: Our team will review your request and, if approved, issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number with detailed return shipping instructions.
- Step 3: Package the product securely in its original packaging, clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the package, and ship the product to the return address provided. We recommend using a trackable shipping method with insurance.
- Step 4: Once we receive and inspect the returned product, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund, less any applicable restocking fees and shipping charges.
Do NOT ship any product back without first obtaining an RMA number. Unauthorized returns will be refused at our receiving facility and returned to sender at the customer’s expense.
SECTION 7 – RESTOCKING AND SHIPPING FEES
- A twenty-five percent (25%) restocking fee applies to all approved voluntary returns of lubricants, oils, and fluids, unless the return is due to our error or a verified product defect. This fee reflects our reasonable costs of handling, inspection, quality verification, repackaging, and inventory restocking.
- A fifty percent (50%) restocking fee applies to refused or undeliverable shipments where the refusal or non-delivery is caused by the customer (see Section 8). The higher fee reflects the additional costs of double-leg freight, redirection, storage, and remediation associated with refused shipments.
- Outbound shipping charges paid at the time of the order are non-refundable.
- Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer and must be prepaid. We do not provide return shipping labels except where the return is due to our error or a verified product defect.
- Customs duties, brokerage fees, taxes, and any other charges paid at import or delivery are non-refundable.
- If a return is refused by us due to non-compliance with this Policy, the customer is responsible for any return-to-sender shipping costs.
SECTION 8 – REFUSED OR UNDELIVERABLE SHIPMENTS
If you refuse delivery of a shipment without prior authorization, or if a shipment is returned to us as undeliverable due to an incorrect address, refusal to accept delivery, or failure to retrieve from a carrier facility, the following will apply:
- The order will be treated as a voluntary return;
- A fifty percent (50%) restocking fee will apply;
- All outbound shipping, return shipping, and any storage or redelivery charges incurred from the carrier will be deducted from the refund; and
- In some cases, total deductions may exceed any refund owed, resulting in no refund being issued.
Estimated transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless the shipment was paid for as an “expedited” or “guaranteed” service. Delays caused by carriers, weather, customs, or other Force Majeure Events do not entitle you to refuse delivery without incurring the fees above.
SECTION 9 – ORDER CANCELLATION
Orders begin processing immediately after they are placed. Cancellation requests are evaluated based on the order status at the time the request is received:
- If the order has not yet entered the shipping process, we will attempt to cancel and issue a full refund, less any payment processing fees that we are unable to recover from our payment processor;
- Once an order has been picked, packed, labelled, or transferred to a carrier, the order cannot be cancelled and will be treated as a return subject to all applicable terms, including restocking and shipping fees; and
- Custom orders cannot be cancelled once production has begun.
To request a cancellation, please contact us immediately at info@buysinopec.ca. We will respond as quickly as possible during business hours, but cannot guarantee that cancellation requests will be received in time to stop fulfillment.
SECTION 10 – REFUNDS
Approved refunds will be processed in accordance with the following:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase;
- The refund amount will equal the original product purchase price, less applicable restocking fees, original shipping charges, return shipping charges (if applicable), and any other deductions permitted under this Policy;
- Refunds are processed within fourteen (14) business days of our receipt and inspection of the returned product;
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed. Please allow an additional 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution; and
- All refunds are issued in Canadian dollars (CAD). We are not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations or foreign transaction fees charged by your financial institution.
SECTION 11 – DELIVERY INSURANCE
Optional delivery insurance may be available at checkout for select shipments. The benefits of delivery insurance include:
- Expedited claims processing in the event of loss or damage in transit;
- Coverage for the declared value of the shipment; and
- Direct claim filing through our claims team.
If you did NOT purchase delivery insurance, you may still file a claim directly with the shipping carrier. However:
- No refund or resolution is guaranteed in such cases;
- Carrier claim processing may take up to twelve (12) weeks; and
- BuySinopec has no obligation to advance refunds or replacements while a carrier claim is pending.
SECTION 12 – CHARGEBACK AND PAYMENT DISPUTE POLICY
Before initiating a chargeback, payment reversal, or dispute with your financial institution or payment processor, you agree to contact us first at info@buysinopec.ca and provide us with a reasonable opportunity (not less than fifteen (15) calendar days) to investigate and resolve the issue directly.
Initiating a chargeback in the following situations may be considered fraudulent or abusive and may result in serious consequences:
- Claiming non-delivery for an order with valid carrier tracking confirmation of delivery;
- Disputing charges for products you have received, opened, used, or retained;
- Disputing charges after the applicable return window has expired;
- Filing duplicate disputes or disputes after receiving a refund through our normal process; or
- Any dispute reasonably determined to be fraudulent, abusive, or made in bad faith.
In response to fraudulent or abusive chargebacks, we reserve the right to:
- Respond to the chargeback with full evidentiary documentation, including order records, IP logs, communications, and carrier delivery confirmations;
- Immediately terminate your account and refuse all future business;
- Refer the matter to collection agencies, payment processors, and fraud prevention networks;
- Pursue civil legal action to recover the disputed amount, plus chargeback fees, collection costs, and legal fees; and
- Report the matter to law enforcement authorities where appropriate.
This Section is supplemental to and consistent with our Terms of Service Section 6C (Returns, Refunds and Chargebacks).
SECTION 13 – PRODUCT WARRANTIES
Manufacturer warranties, where applicable, are passed through to the original purchaser of the product. Warranty terms, durations, and procedures vary by manufacturer and product and are governed by the warranty documentation accompanying the product.
BuySinopec does not provide any independent warranty on products beyond the manufacturer’s warranty, except as required by applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation. To initiate a warranty claim, please contact us at info@buysinopec.ca with your order number and a description of the issue.
SECTION 14 – CONSUMER RIGHTS
This Return Policy describes the contractual remedies we offer and does not affect any rights you may have under applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation, including:
- The Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario);
- The Sale of Goods Act (Ontario) and equivalent provincial legislation;
- The Competition Act (Canada); and
- Other applicable federal, provincial, or territorial consumer protection laws.
Nothing in this Return Policy excludes, restricts, or limits rights you may have under applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded or waived by contract. Where any provision of this Policy conflicts with such rights, the statutory rights prevail to the extent of the conflict.
SECTION 15 – LIMITATION PERIOD
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any claim or cause of action relating to a purchase, return, shipment, refund, warranty, or any matter arising out of or relating to this Return Policy must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action arises, failing which the claim shall be permanently barred.
This limitation applies to, without limitation, claims for freight loss or damage, shipping disputes, refund disputes, warranty claims, and chargeback-related claims.
This limitation does not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Limitations Act, 2002 (Ontario), in which case the statutory limitation period shall apply.
SECTION 16 – CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We reserve the right to update, modify, or revise this Return Policy at any time, in our reasonable discretion. The version in effect at the time of your order will apply to that order.
Material changes will be posted on our Website at www.buysinopec.ca. Continued use of the Website or placing of new orders after a change has been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
